...It didn't work. Zim was the same idiot he always was, but he had FRIENDS this time, and when it was all over he sent me hurtling into deep space in the ejected escape pod of my ship. I'd nearly resigned myself to my fate when my pod was picked up by a Meekrob slave ship. Of course at that point I would have preferred a slow painful death in deep space to Meekrob slavers.
Alright, this is where things start to get unbelievable.
Thanks to the ineptitude of the ship's techs and some creative rewiring on my part, the slave ship lost control in free space. Unfortunately what I couldn't see--what ANYONE couldn't see for that matter--was the wormhole that the ship plunged into. How I got out isn't important--It's was very complicated and involved focused high-energy particles and a spare can of soda I happened to have on hand. But I managed to puncture a hole in the wormhole large enough to slip out. The good news was I was out of the wormhole and away from that horrible moose. (don't ask.) The bad news was: I got stuck.
Yes, stuck. I got lodged between the folds of the dimensional fabric. I have no idea how long I stayed there; there was no measure of time. Finally in a fit of near-madness I decided to use parts of my identpak and that spare soda can to build something that could transport me out of there. It worked, and because I didn't have a set destination in mind--ANY place was better than none--I found myself in the Nexus.
The parts I used to build the dimensional transport thingy were part of my biocontrol system. I found out later that while it was operational it stunted hormone levels in my body, keeping me short and underdeveloped and stupid. All irkens have them and don't know it, I was just the only one crazy enough to destroy it. Because I destroyed it I'm now taller and stronger and squishier than I used to be. The computer brain in my lab likens this to the puberty-change that humans go through after their smeet-stage. And it just may have a point.
